Survivor Series 2012 Thoughts & Predictions

Eve (c) Vs Kaitlyn – Divas Title Match

So this is happening. And uhhh. I don’t know how or why. Nor do I care. I skip the diva stuff.

Winner – Eve – Just because I don’t think they’ll take the title from Eve just now. Not that it matters.

Antonio Cesaro (c) Vs R-Truth – US Title Match

So this is also happening too because… I don’t know either. I avoid anything involving R-Truth. 2 matches into the card, and I really just don’t care. Not good lol.

Winner – Antonio Cesaro – They’d be retarded to put the title on Truth. He’s useless, plus it seems they have big plans for Cesaro.

The Big Show (c) Vs Sheamus – World Heavyweight Championship Match

Ok, finally a match I’m interested in! They shocked pretty much everyone at HIAC (some of us thought it could be good, but I doubt anyone expected THAT kind of match from them), and I’m sure they can give us another great encounter tonight. Surprised it isn’t a gimmick match though. Surprised it wasn’t a cell match at the HIAC PPV last month too. I think they’ve been having Last Man Standing matches at house shows recently, and given how their last match went down and the build up to this match, it seems like a perfect stip this time around. But nope. Just a singles match lol. Next PPV is TLC… and well, none of those matches would seem like a good fit. So I’m expecting them to have a rematch involving a ladder. Unless…

Winner – Sheamus – However, I say Show retains. Maybe Sheamus might win, but by DQ or something so Show keeps the title. Sheamus will be pissed, kick Show in the head, Ziggler comes out to cash in, but Sheamus is still pissed and kicks Ziggler too, thus no cash in yet. Sets up another match at TLC, some kind of gimmick match, then Sheamus will win, but Ziggler will cash in and win the belt.

Survivor Series Elimination Match – Team Ziggler Vs Team Foley

Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett & Rhodes Scholars Vs Randy Orton, The Miz, Kofi Kingston & Team Hell No w/Mick Foley

Always nice to actually see a traditional SS match, just a shame they never put much effort into the build up. They kinda had the build with everyone being opponents from HIAC, but then they fucked that up by removing Punk and Ryback, then having Miz quit his team and join the other team in Ryback’s place and Barrett take Miz’s place with Ziggler taking Punk’s place even though it seemed like he and Cena might be starting something but Cena was put with Punk and Ryback. I think that covered it all? Oh, and not forgetting, Cody likely won’t be apart of the match now due to a shoulder injury during a match against Kane on the Main Event. Rumours are that Tensai will take his place.

As far as the actual match is concerned… you have Daniel Bryan, one of the best in ring performers in the entire world today. You have Kane, who has really stepped up lately since teaming with Bryan. Sandow, Ziggler and Orton can all bring it too. So half the participants are capable of giving us a great match. The other half… dull, shitty in the ring or just plain terrible (oh hai Kofi). Hopefully they won’t drag it down.

Winners – Team Ziggler – Any team with Orton is likely a huge favourite to win, but dammit, Ziggler fucking NEEDS a big win. He’s the current MITB briefcase holder and is likely to win the WHC any week now… but he’s lost so many times its impossible to take him even a little seriously as a main champion. WWE don’t seem to realise that just winning the briefcase doesn’t automatically give a wrestler credibility. They need to actually DO SOMETHING between winning it and cashing it in. Look at Edge, the first winner back in 2005. The next PPV after WM, he beat Benoit in a LMS match.  Went on to lose to Kane, BUT he got the better of him eventually when Lita turned on Kane to join Edge when the whole affair scandal came out (an ACTUAL affair scandal might I add, not this AJ/Cena crap). Then he proceeded to destroy Matt Hardy at SS, lost to Matt in a cage at Unforgiven but then won a loser leaves Raw ladder match to send Matt away to Smackdown. I’m pretty sure he also earned a shot at the title without having to cash in around this time as well, though my memory isn’t too good. Then at NYR 06, he got DQ’d against Flair because he didn’t want to waste too much time in the ring as he would come out later in the night, cash in and WIN the WWE Title. See, Edge had almost a full year of being built up with the briefcase. And about 6 months prior to that being built up as well. How does that compare to Ziggler? It doesn’t. Ziggler loses big matches. All the time. When did he last win on PPV? Anyway. Give him this win please WWE. Knowing my luck, they’ll have the newly turned babyface The Jiz be the sole survivor. Urgh.

CM Punk (c) Vs Ryback Vs John Cena – WWE Title Match

If Punk wins, he’ll hit 365 days on Monday for his title reign. If Ryback wins, Vince has lost his fucking mind. If Cena wins, nobody in their right mind should be surprised. With Rock randomly getting a title shot at the RR in January, and given what happened last time The Rock was on Raw, smart money would be on Punk facing Rock for the title there. And Punk going into that match with over 400 days as champion would be far bigger than Punk losing the belt here and winning it back at TLC or something. I don’t know though, it all depends on what plans WWE has for WM. I avoid as many spoilers as possible, so I have no idea. Rock/Cena II could be a possibility (god I fucking hope not though), so Rock could be champ defending against Cena. Then again, Cena could win the title here, lose to Rock at RR and have Punk/Rock for the title at WM. Maybe Punk/Cena go at it at WM leaving Rock as champion to defend against someone else, so it wouldn’t matter (to WWE) who drops the title to Rock. Oh god Ryback is winning it, isn’t he? What was I talking about? Oh yeah, triple threat match. Punk and Cena have amazing chemistry together, and Ryback Vs Cena in a superman contest sounds pretty interesting. Just worried about the finish.

Winner – CM Punk – Guy has to retain. Needs his year long title reign. Plus, imagine Raw on Monday? HUGE celebration for Punk could be great. But since its Punk, a heel, against 2 babyfaces, you just KNOW they are gonna do the basic boring dull finish where Cena or Ryback hit their finisher on the other, and Punk sneaks in and steals the win making him look as credible as Dolph Ziggler. YAWN.

Overall… I’m not excited about this show. Not much potential for greatness tbh, and the stuff that could be good will probably get screwed up (elimination match for example), and the matches with pretty much no potential will probably live up to that. Hope I’m wrong.

Big Cal’s Top 100 WCW Matches Ever!

Just finished a huge top 100 WCW matches project, similar to the WWF/E One from last year ( http://wrestlingview.co.uk/?p=270 ). I’m not 100% happy with my list unfortunately, as I was rushed to complete it due to my laziness for a few months lol, but for the most part its fine. Happy with my top 30ish matches, and the bottom 20ish, but its some of the middle stuff that I’d probably change if I had more time :p. Like the WWF/E List, this is simply MY personal list, and is made up of matches I think are legit classics and matches I just love even if they aren’t “technically” as good as others.

2012 Royal Rumble – My Thoughts & Predictions

rr

“It’s the most wonderful time, of the year”

No, not Christmas. ROYAL RUMBLE, baby! As a wrestling fan, the Royal Rumble is my absolute favourite time of the year. The 30 man over the top rope battle royal provides a ton of fun and entertainment, excitement, suspense, drama, comedy and unpredictability. It’s like what WWE should be all year round, but they’re not, so they ram it all into one match to make up for it lol. We have surprise returns, crazy eliminations, insane entrants (Benoit going in as #1 only to win etc). I just love it. I avoid spoilers as much as possible these days, but for the RR, I avoid EVERYTHING I possibly can. I don’t want to know what number anyone is gonna come out at unless it’s announced on the shows (like Miz being #1 this year). I don’t want to know anyone that’s returning during the rumble match. And above all else, I don’t want to know who is going to win. Not knowing a damn thing makes watching the show live that much more fun. So, with the 2012 RR just days away, here are my thoughts and predictions on the “final” card:

kc

John Cena Vs Kane

Emperor PalpaKane is trying to turn John Cena into a sith. At least, that’s how I’m seeing this feud. Leading up to WM against The Rock, its nice to see Cena involved in a feud like this, but come on, how fucking random is it that Kane showed up one week with his mask back on to try and make Cena evil? Unless The Rock somehow hired Kane to do this, then this is probably the biggest random coincidence. Cena needs to embrace the hate that he’s getting, something The Rock was trying to get him to do, and while this is going on Kane happens to show up to get Cena to embrace the hate. So yeah. Random coincidence for now lol.

Not been a big fan of the build to this either, with the exception of Zack Ryder being brutally assaulted on a regular basis and taken out of action last week :D. Cena has just done some weird constipation faces in an attempt to look angry, and that’s about it. Match itself will be a big brawl with probably a shitty ending.

Winner: John Cena

Daniel Bryan (c) Vs The Big Show Vs Mark Henry – Triple Threat Steel Cage Match – World Heavyweight Championship

Man am I looking forward to this! Big Show and Henry started their feud back in July, and then when Show returned we got some really fun big man matches between the two, including the awesome moment of the ring breaking, something that WWE hasn’t actually overused! During this feud they were building Bryan up and he too had some incredibly fun matches with Henry, which eventually led to him winning the WHC by cashing in his MITB (which he won at the MITB PPV… the same show that essentially started Henry’s epic “Hall of Pain” gimmick and was the major groundwork for the Henry/Show feud… fuck that PPV was awesome!). With the WHC, Bryan as a character has evolved into one of my absolute favourites in wrestling right now, and he’s had some fun matches with Show and some more with Henry as well! So all 3 guys have shown they have chemistry with each other, with Bryan and Henry having 2 really great gimmicks atm and Show, while not doing anything that noteworthy as far as being a character, doing perfectly fine. Its rare that a triple threat happens when I don’t feel like its forced. This match just feels “natural”, like all 3 men really deserve to be in the match. Months of build up to them having a triple threat through singles matches, tag matches, and interference. Its nice to see. And it being in a cage? Perfect. Bryan has been doing everything he can to escape with the title, and this time he can’t escape with the belt unless he manages to climb a 15th steel cage and avoids 2 monsters at the same time. Wow, not only does this legit deserve to be a triple threat, but the stipulation is actually spot on too! Which makes me wonder, just who the fuck is booking this thing on SD?

The match itself has potential to be fun as fuck. Not sure it will be “great” in terms of quality, but I’m actually confident I won’t be disappointed with it. Might end up being the MOTN depending on the time it gets. Could be better than the WWE Title match. Yeah, I said it.

Winner – Daniel Bryan

CM Punk (c) Vs Dolph Ziggler – Special Guest Referee John Laurinaitis – WWE Title

The actual Ziggler/Punk feud hasn’t been very good, and has been very, very overshadowed by the Laurinaitis/Punk feud. Which is a shame because I think Ziggler has been tremendous as of late and really deserved more of a spotlight for this match than he’s been getting. Laurinaitis being the referee could end up hurting the match, or could help it, it really isn’t something I can predict. The whole ” Laurinaitis might get fired on Raw” crap they seemed to just throw into the end of Raw last week also kinda screws up the guest referee stuff because now Big Johnny is less likely to try to screw Punk in fear of getting fired the next night. Way to kill the heat. Speaking of, Punk hit the GTS on Big Johnny on Raw too. More heat killed. Laurinaitis can’t screw Punk or he will likely be fired, and Punk knocked him out. Where the FUCK do they go from here? Ah well. Hopefully now the Rumble match will be more about, you know, the match than the special referee.

Which brings me to the match itself. Ziggler is excellent right now. His mic work has improved a ton, and he’s awesome in the ring. Punk is also great in the ring. They’ve had a couple of really good matches on TV recently. This is the match most likely to steal the show.

Winner – CM Punk

30 Man Royal Rumble Match – Winner receives WWE/WHC match at WrestleMania 28

Announced Competitors:

Jinder Mahal
Sheamus
Santino Marella
Wade Barrett
Mick Foley
The Miz (#1 entrant)
R-Truth
Chris Jericho

As far as I know they haven’t announced anyone else right now, but I could be wrong. WWE.com usually has a list of the people who are going to be in it, but not this year! Which I’m not bothered about because it just adds more unpredictability to the match.

Rumble matches are THE reason I love the RR event as much as I do. Some of my favourite matches are RR matches. 1991, 1992, 1996, 2001, 2002, 2009. All super awesome fun matches imo. And out of the 24 they’ve done so far, I’d only say… 3 of them are actually bad matches. 3 out of 24 (95, 98, 99). Pretty great statistic in wrestling I think lol.

Some great talent has already been announced, and there are a bunch of other talented guys who haven’t officially been announced for it that will no doubt be part of it too. Combine that with some potential surprise entrants and just like every single year, the match has potential to be fun as fuck. And just like every year, I can’t fucking wait!!!

So who is going to win? Some years are predictable as hell, some aren’t. This year isn’t as easy to predict imo. Orton just returned on SD and is very heavily protected by WWE, and with this being in his home town he has a huge chance to win the thing. I hope he doesn’t, but it could happen. Sheamus has been pushed huge since day one, and the last year he’s actually deserved the push he’s got. Wade Barrett probably has less of a chance than Orton and Sheamus, but despite everything that has happened to him booking wise, WWE keep trying to shove him down our throats lol. I’m hoping he and Orton will continue their feud by eliminating each other, that way neither of them can win :D.

But my overall pick to win is:

Winner – Chris Jericho

Jericho has just returned. Huge hype for it, and he’s been smart with his return by doing… nothing. Nothing except for telling us that the world is going to end at the RR. And I believe it will start with him winning the RR. Once that happens Jericho will unleash… himself upon us. And it should be awesome.

WWE Vengeance 2011 Thoughts & Predictions

So it occurs to me that WWE have a PPV on tonight, and since I’ve been lacking in written content for a while (not from a lack of it, just laziness when it comes to formatting it on this blog and posting it lol), I figured I’d post some thoughts and predictions.
Beth Phoenix Vs Eve – Divas Title

Beth and Natalya are on some weird rampage attempt, doing what they can to take out all the “barbie doll” divas. Only problem is they’ve been losing left right and fucking centre for the most part ever since the beginning of their “push”. Hell, it took them what, 2 months to finally take the belt from Kelly Kelly? And Eve beat Natalya a couple of weeks ago to gain a title shot against Beth. Not sure if we are supposed to see these two as a threat to the “barbie dolls” or not lol.

Anyway… I don’t give a shit about the match or who wins. I haven’t cared about the divas division since Trish, Lita and Mickie all left the company.

Prediction: Beth retains

Air Boom Vs Zig Zag Paddy Swagg – Tag Team Titles

Air Boom is a shit name, and a shit tag team too. Bourne is a talented wrestler, but Kofi is a jumping, botching, all around annoying wrestler that he brings down Bourne making the team in general a pile of shit. Ziggler and Swagger on the other hand, are both great and COULD be a really good tag team… if WWE gave a shit about tag teams. It seems that any time either Swagger or Ziggler gain momentum, they (the powers that be) take it away from them. Hell, both are former World Champions and it was quite possibly the worst time in their careers when they were champs. Swagger won it out of nowhere and did nothing with it, being booked like shit the entire time… and Dolph had it for about 15 minutes, serving no other purpose than to give Edge another pointless title reign that he didn’t need nor deserve.

Anywho… the match COULD be good. If, and only if, they make Bourne the FIP (and given some of the brutal attacks he’s had in recent weeks at the hands of Zig Zag Paddy Swagg, there is a good chance he will be) and work a nice old fashioned Southern Tag Formula match, then it has some potential. But this is WWE, and for some reason anything with potential gets fucked up the arse. So Either Kofi will play the FIP and do a shit job at it like he always does, or Kofi and Bourne will dominate the majority of the match letting the heels get as little in as possible.

Prediction – Zig Zag Paddy Swagg win the titles

Sheamus Vs Christian

They had a really fun match at… whatever the last PPV was (so many in such a short time I forget these things), but it was missing a little something. Mainly a control segment lol. With Sheamus being so big and powerful and being booked so strongly, its hard for someone “small” like Christian to really gain the upperhand in a match like this, even using heel tactics. It CAN be done, no doubt about it, but WWE are so fucking protective when it comes to certain guys that I’m doubting it will. I hope I’m wrong though, because a decent length match between these two could be really fucking boss.

Prediction – Sheamus

Randy Orton Vs Cody Rhodes

Guessing the IC title isn’t on the line, right? Kinda sucks, since a feud with a big main eventer like Orton would do wonders for the credibility of the IC title. Ah well. Feud has been pretty good, just a shame the start of it wasn’t fucking shown in full on TV except like, Australia or something stupid like that, so starting a feud based on something we didn’t get to see in full (fucking no blood policy…) is kinda retarded, but they’ve managed to get around it the best they can.

Not sure how good the match will be, since Orton these days only really works well with a select few guys, and Rhodes may or may not be one of them.

Prediction – Cody Rhodes, by DQ

Dolph Ziggler Vs Zack Ryder – United States Title

Poor Dolph has to work twice in one night… which is actually good for us fans because he’s a tremendous worker. Shame his opponent here is Zack Ryder. Shouldn’t he be defending his made up title on the internet instead?

Match might be ok, but I don’t put much stock in Zack’s in ring ability so it’ll probably only be good if Ziggler carries his arse.

Prediction – Dolph Ziggler (If Ryder wins the US Belt I’ll fucking scream)

Triple H & CM Punk Vs The Miz & R-Truth

Remember when Punk was the hottest thing in the company, working with Cena in the main event for the title and actually winning. Twice. Those were awesome times. SO WHY THE FUCK IS HE WORKING AGAINST MIZ AND TRUTH?

Punk will do what he can to make this match good, but fuck, I don’t don’t care. HHH is average at best, and Miz & Truth both suck. Truth especially. I’m expecting this feud to continue onto Survivor Series in which it’ll end in a traditional SS match. Then hopefully after that Punk can go back to working with main event talent again.

Prediction – Miz & Truth, probably through either shenanigans or miscommunication from HHH and Punk. Not clean, anyway.

Mark Henry Vs The Big Sh0w – World Heavyweight Championship

Henry has been on a role ever since his feud with Big Show leading into SummerSlam, and I don’t expect it to stop just yet. Keep this one short and it should end up sweet. Let them go full force for 10 minutes max with some crazy show of strength finish from Henry and all will be good.

Only problem I really have with this match is that The Undertaker is heavily rumoured to return at this PPV.. and for some reason Undertaker + Return = Henry way too fucking often, so I really fucking hope if Undertaker does indeed come back tonight he stays the fuck away from Henry. Main reason being is that they tend to have shitty matches, regardless of how great Undertaker is and even how good Henry is right now. Plus Henry isn’t the safest worker around and ‘Taker needs to be healthy for WM. And Henry probably wouldn’t win the feud either, which would suck because Undertaker doesn’t need the belt and Henry’s push doesn’t need to end just yet.

Prediction – Mark Henry

Alberto Del Rio Vs John Cena – Last Man Standing WWE Title

If any match NEEDS a Last Man Standing stip… its not this one. Seriously, where the fuck did it come from? Doesn’t help that they had like, 2 weeks to build to the match itself, but they announced the stipulation on the last Raw before the fucking PPV. How is ANYONE supposed to get excited for this?

Shit, mostly non existant feud between two wrestles that I really couldn’t care less for right now. Needless to say I don’t care about this match.

Prediction – Cena, because he needs another title reign dammit! (and yes, that was sarcasm…)

Money in the Bank 2011 Thoughts and Predictions

I haven’t been THIS excited about a PPV since… well I just don’t know. I always look forward to the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania every year regardless of the card, but that’s because they are RR and WM. Looking forward to a “B” PPV is something I haven’t done in a very, VERY long time. Certainly not to the extent I am for this one. Every match on the card bar the divas match interests me. Haven’t even been able to say that for a WM or RR in a long time (maybe even ever tbh).

Divas Title Match

Kelly Kelly Vs Brie Bella

Yeah, this is ummm… on the card and stuff. Don’t care. At all.

Winner: Kelly Kelly

The Big Show Vs Mark Henry

On paper this can either look really terrible or pretty good, depending on your thoughts on both men. Personally, I’m a big fan of Show, and while Henry isn’t that great, he CAN be a good Monster Heel when he wants to be. They’ve had a nicely built feud with lots of HATE~! and if they go under 10 minutes and bust out plenty of big moves and try not to slow down too much, it could be an extremely fun brawl.

Winner: The Big Show. Both guys have a chance, but I’m gonna go with iog Show just because Vince is pretty protective of him and while Henry could use the big win I just don’t see them giving it to him.

Smackdown Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Kane Vs Sin Cara Vs Daniel Bryan Vs Wade Barrett Vs Cody Rhodes Vs Sheamus Vs Heath Slater Vs Justin Gabriel

Definitely looking forward to this one. Don’t care for Slater, or Gabriel, Barrett or Cara, and I’m not the biggest fan of Kane (but I kinda like him), but tbh these kinda of matches are usually ALWAYS at least fun. Cara will do his best not to botch some big spots, I’m sure we’ll see a 450 splash from a ladder, and everyone else will probably have some sort of spot that will get a big reaction. Sheamus and Kane will be good power guys (maybe Barrett too…), Daniels and Cody will bump like champions, and everyone else will hopefully not screw up too badly lol. We also have the whole Daniel/Cody feud and the former Corre members involved that can be played off of, and I’m sure DiBiase will show up to help Cody and possibly take a bump too.

Winner: Sheamus. Can’t really see anyone else winning, even if I would personally love to see Bryan or Cody coming out on top.

Raw Money in the Bank Ladder Match

Rey Mysterio Vs Alberto Del Rio Vs Alex Riley Vs Evan Bourne Vs Kofi Kingston Vs The Miz Vs R-Truth Vs Jack Swagger

Again, not fond of a bunch of guys in this (Riley, Kingston, Miz, Truth), but the rest should be able to make up for them sucking. Mysterio can take bumps and do crazy moves, as can Bourne. Kingston will try and hopefully not botch (he’s Raw’s equivalent of Sin cara). Del Rio showed us in his match with Christian that he can have a good ladder match and take bumps too, so having to do less here should mean that he will be fine. Swagger has experience in these matches and even won one (anyone remember that? No? LOL) so he won’t screw up too badly. The other 3? Well, fuck them tbh. Again, like the SD match I’m expecting something fun at least.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio. He won the RR match but didn’t win the title, maybe this time he will. Mysterio doesn’t need the win, and nobody else in the match is remotely credible imo.

World Heavyweight Title Match, If Randy is DQ’d Christian wins the title

Randy Orton Vs Christian

They’ve yet to have a bad match, and its great to see Christian in yet another “main event” at a PPV. Just one thing though… what happened to the whole “if the referee makes a stupid decision Christian gets an immediate rematch”? I get that the original contract was torn up by Sheamus… but like, they just make another. Why remove that rule and JUST add in the DQ stip? Seems retarded to me. Anyways, Christian is going pretty good as a heel (prefer him as a babyface tbh, but he wasn’t getting much mic time when he was), and Orton seems to finally be getting into a grove as a babyface (only taken him about a YEAR), so another good match is near enough a certainty.

Winner: Christian. Yeah, I said it. Christian is winning the title. But that’s not all. I’m also predicting that the SD MITB winner will come down, cash in and win the belt from Christian, causing him to snap even more and continue his crazy “loser heel” gimmick thing he has going lol.

WWE Title Match, If CM Punk leaves with the title, Cena is fired

John Cena Vs CM Punk

Fuck yeah. I’m actually looking forward to a JOHN CENA MATCH. First time since… well there was that one… ummm… I don’t remember. The atmosphere is going to be awesome. Punk is going to be over like a motherfucker, Cena will be booed straight to hell, and its just going to be FUN. These two have proven in Raw matches this year that they have chemistry, and with Punk being as awesome as he is, I can’t see this match being bad by any means unless Cena manages to completely fuck it up, and I don’t see that happening either. Sure, Cena has been extraordinarily average for at least a year now, but against the right guy in the right situation I’m sure he can bust out one of his great performances that we saw on pretty much a weekly basis in 2007 when he had a rather great year despite all the “Cena Hate” going around at the time.

Winner: CM Punk. Yep. Punk is beating Cena for the title. BUT, the whole “If Punk leaves with the title, Cena is fired” is going to come into play. Notice how its not “If Cena loses he is fired”? That’s because Cena doesn’t need to win to keep his job, the title simply needs to remain with a Raw contracted superstar. I know I already used this finish, but I can see the Raw MITB winner showing up and taking the belt from Punk, setting up a nice pre-made angle for SummerSlam between John Cena and (based on my predictions) Albertio Del Rio. I’ve read some rather awesome (and crazy) ideas for the finish of this match, and while some of them are WAY fucking better than my “idea” I just don’t see them happening. Regardless of my prediction coming true or not, WWE had better not screw this up. The Punk angle is white hot atm, and a shitty payoff is the very last thing they need. Give us something special Vince.

Big video update

Well, I was hoping to write this AFTER posted WWR from last week (a week late lol) and this week (on time), but it seems my internet is taking the piss out of me. Earlier my download speed was non existent basically, while my upload speed was fine. Now my download speed is back up to full and my upload speed is non existent, so I can’t get my videos uploaded just yet. So there ARE done, just sitting here now waiting until I can actually get them online.

But that isn’t the big video update I wanted to make. Once the two new videos go online, I will be taking a break from Weekly Wrestling Roundup videos for a little while. Basically, the first 25 episodes (a few “lost” episodes that haven’t been recorded yet included… though they will be seeing the light of day soon…) can be considered Season 1, and when I get back to doing them again, it’ll be Season 2. So I’ll probably stick to doing 25 episodes in a season and then taking a little break every time.

The reason I have decided to take a break from them for now is because of 2 things. The first is that I’m waiting on getting a new computer, which will make things go so much more smoothly both on the recording and editing side of things. Sometimes when I do these videos I’m having to record the entire thing 2 or 3 times (never know if the recorded footage is useless until its finished recording), and the editing process can take over 5 hours in total (when things went right for me, it would take me no longer than an hour usually). So I figured I’d save myself the hassle of doing a video every single week now until I get my new PC.

The second reason is simply the fact that I have a couple of other projects on the go that I would like to finally get done without always having to concentrate on WWR as well. I still have a Wrestling View video that I originally planned on posting in APRIL that needs to be scripted (again… scripted it once already but its horrible so I’m re-doing it), never mind recorded and edited lol. I also have some written projects that I would really like to get into and maybe finish too, and I’m also working on some big things for my 1 year anniversary in… September I think it is (maybe October… my memory kinda sucks lol). So yeah, I just wanna take a break from WWR so I can get other things organised and scripted and set up, and in a couple of months I’ll be back with WWR. In the mean time I will be posting a ton of written reviews, and I’ll try and get some other videos up as well (PPV predictions, Wrestling View etc).  I will also actually still be scripting WWR every week (I’m already watching the weekly shows, might as well write the script at the same time lol), just not recording and editing footage for them. When I finally return to doing the videos, I will do a special before the new season starts with all the “best” bits from the scripts I write, in a sort of “catch up” style video :).

And that’s about it. Hoping to get WWR Episodes 24 and 25 uploaded ASAP once my internet allows it, and then I’ll be spamming the hell out of my site with written reviews and the occasional video!

Another Update

Man, this year hasn’t exactly gone the way I was hoping lol. Towards the end of last year, I had big plans for my videos and this site (and I still do), but so far 2011 hasn’t exactly been kind to me.

So, just to update everyone on where I’ve been and what’s going on, I figured I’d make a quick update post.

So, my Great Grandma died last week. I wasn’t that close to her admittedly, but a death in the family always takes its toll even if it doesn’t directly affect you.

Then on the same day, my Grandad was diagnosed with cancer, and had to be taken into surgery the following day (my brithday of all days, so yeah, that wasn’t fun). The following day my parents rushed up to Scotland to see him as his heart had stopped for a few minutes following the surgery, and they were unsure if he would make it past the weekend. Luckily he DID, and he is recovering as well as can be expected.

Oh, and my hand was giving me some problems too which prevented me from too much computer use (getting any scripts written etc).

So, not exactly the best couple of weeks, but I’m gonna be back (again) by next week and hopefully start getting videos out weekly like I always planned. Plus I have my Wrestling View video that needs to actually be filmed still (most likely gonna be a couple of weeks for me to film and then edit). So I shall see you all next week with a NEW Weekly Wrestling Roundup video, and perhaps a random unscripted video with me giving some thoughts on the past few weeks of wrestling because I have a LOT I would like to talk about. Thinking I might just do an audio thing for it instead of video though…

Quick Update

Hey, just thought I’d make a short post letting everyone know where the hell I’ve been and why no new videos have been up in a couple of weeks lol.

So yeah, started having pain in my right hand about 3 weeks ago, but I just assumed it would go away like my back pain that seems to come and go, the occasional shoulder pain, and my knee pain (though my knee pain seems to be permanent until the damn doctors figure out what’s causing it… around 10 years and counting now!). But nope, kept coming back and getting worse, and I found it was happening after periods of time on the PC, using the mouse or keyboard often. Had a quick look into it, and based on my symptoms, RSI seems the most likely (Repetitive Strain Injury), maybe CTS (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome), but I’d bet money on just RSI. Got a doctors appointment on Monday to find out for sure, so until then I’ve decided to cut down my activity on the computer, hence no new videos.

I HAVE been doing some work on my Wrestling View video here and there, but Windows Movie Maker is making it take longer than it should to begin with, and then having to stop after 20 minutes or so because of my hand is really turning this into a full on project lol. Hoping that all goes well at the doctors on Monday, then I can get back to work on my videos, because I’m bored out of my mind atm and I love making them.

So until then, I’ll probably pull out some old written reviews to post, like I’ve been doing here and there in the past 🙂

Competition Winner!!!

Well, I was going to make a video for this, but given the circumstances, that would have been completely pointless :cal:.

Anyways… the winner of the Wrestling View Royal Rumble 2011 DVD/Bluray Competition is…

*drum roll*

MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

How am I the winner? Because I was planning on getting the DVD for myself anyway, and since NOBODY ENTERED THE FUCKING COMPETITION, I might as well use the funds for my own personal use instead :lmao.

Guess I won’t bother doing a competition again for a little while… Weekly Wrestling Roundup will be uploaded tomorrow though, and I’m working on the next Wrestling View video that will be online at the end of the month :).

2011 Video Schedule (part 1)

As I mentioned around Christmas time, I am changing my schedule for the Wrestling View videos. Weekly Wrestling Roundup will still be a weekly show, but the Wrestling View videos are going to be much further apart in order for me to really put some more effort and time into them to make them better. So here is the first part of my 2011 Schedule:

  • 08/01/2011 – Big Cal Presents: Wrestling View – Best WWE DVD Releases #3 (Already posted)
  • 29/01/2011 – Big Cal Presents: Wrestling View – The Royal Rumble
  • 26/02/2011 – Big Cal Presents: Wrestling View – Wrestling Meets Hollywood #1: Ready to Rumble
  • 12/03/2011 – Big Cal Presents: Wrestling View – Best Wrestling Books #1
  • 02/04/2011 – Big Cal Presents: Wrestling View – WrestleMania
