Wait… what? 😛
Firstly, let me just wish everyone a very Merry Christmas :). And for those who don’t celebrate Christmas, Happy Holidays :).
I haven’t posted anything in a week, and since it’s Christmas, now seemed like a good time to post something lol. I have been ill with the flu for the last week or so (as you should know from my Twitter. What? You don’t follow me on Twitter? That can be fixed… http://www.twitter.com/Wrestling_View) and have unfortunately not had the chance to record either a Wrestling View video or a Weekly Wrestling Roundup video. I’m hoping that somewhere between Christmas and New Year I will be able to record at least one video (End of Year Wrestling View Special, and maybe a Weekly Wrestling Roundup assuming WWE and TNA don’t do an end of year clip show thing).
And once that is done… we will be moving into 2011! Amazing to think that I have only been doing this for what, 3 months? Sure, I’m not a big famous Internet Celebrity, and I’m not featured on some big popular website, and my viewing numbers per video are worse than a Chavo Guerrero Jr match (that one is for you Mike… assuming you actually visit this place lol)… but as I said in my 100 views spectacular celebration video, the views I HAVE gotten has been far beyond anything I was expecting based on past experiences. So, I just want to thank everyone who watches and enjoys my videos :). Just knowing that a small handful of people out there watch me every week is more than enough to keep me going, because I genuinely just love doing this. And with 2011 around the corner, I plan to keep moving forward and hopefully gain more viewers and fans!
In 2011, I am going to make some changes to my schedule, as I do believe I have mentioned already. I will be sticking to Weekly Wrestling Roundup being a weekly show (anything else would make the title of it stupid lol), while Wrestling View will probably be a twice a month thing. The reason for this is so I can give myself more time to prepare for the videos; get some better notes together, do more research into things, and then give myself more time to edit everything neater and whatnot. My current system doesn’t allow me to use editing software beyond Windows Movie Maker so I am really limited to what I can do (despite numerous ideas I have had in the past for videos), but I am hoping that giving myself a little more time per video, I can make the most of what I have and try to increase the technical quality of my videos in the future :).
Of course, I also have a couple of other ideas for videos, either just one off specials or a full series like WV and WWR. Its just a matter of finding the time to put them together, or waiting until I have the money to invest in better equipment to actually make them (I’m hoping to finally get a job in 2011 after being out of work for WAY too long, and when I do, I can begin saving for a new computer, and an actual video camera rather than using my webcam).
So basically, I have a lot of ideas and plans for 2011, and again I just want to thank everyone for giving me the motivation to do this :). Just think, if I’m getting THIS motivated from an average of 20 views per video, imagine what I would be like if I ever got really popular?!?! 😛
I think that about covers everything I wanted to talk about lol. So thanks for reading, hope you all have a great Christmas/happy Holidays! I’ll be back before the New Year with at least one video if all goes well, otherwise I’ll just have to do it “old school” and type it all out instead :P.
Note: The video footage of me towards the end (around the SD portion of the show) gets a little funny, but the audio is fine. Seems there was a problem during recording, and I didn’t have time to re-record any of it.
The 2nd Annual TLC PPV is on tonight, so I figured I’d post my predictions for the show.
Tag Team Table Match – Beth Phoenix & Natalya Vs LayCool
So, if this just one person from the team goes through a table, or both? I ask because I am expecting Beth and Nat to win, but if BOTH members of a team need to go through… how the hell is Michelle gonna make it? She’ll break before the table lol…
Winners – Beth Phoenix & Natalya – They are the stronger team, Natalya is divas champ, and LayCool need to finally get what’s coming to them. Don’t care too much about the match though, since I won’t be watching the show live I’ll skip ahead to the table bumps when I watch it.
Intercontinental Title Ladder Match – Dolph Ziggler (c) Vs Jack Swagger Vs Kofi Kingston
On paper this looks like it could be pretty good. Dolph is awesome, and one of the better bumpers in the company right now. Kofi can do some crazy ladder shit, and Swagger… well Swagger is a great wrestler and at least has a MITB ladder match win to his name so he doesn’t seem totally out of place here.
Winner – Dolph Ziggler – Kofi shouldn’t be anywhere near a title imo, and while I like Swagger, I think Dolph needs to have a nice long run with the belt. He’s been a great champion so far, puts on good match after good match, defends the belt often and adds some much needed credibility to the title. Considering the track record WWE have with Swagger, putting the belt on him would be pointless in the end, and Kofi just sucks too much to be IC champ :P.
#1 Contender Ladder Match – John Morrison Vs Sheamus
The more I think about this match, the more I’m looking forward to it tbh. The feud has been built up nicely, has lasted longer than 2 weeks which is a fucking feat in itself for WWE PPV’s these days (come to think of it, ALL the matches on the card have had plenty of time in the buildup except for Orton/Miz). Morrison has one win, Sheamus has one win, and now they get to have the rubber match with more than just a win at steak. I LOVE when they have #1 contenders matches at PPV’s. Just makes the title seem more important when guys are having big matches on big shows just to get the chance to fight for a belt, instead of constantly wrestling for a belt on every damn show. This one could very well be the sleeper MOTN.
Winner – ??? – I can’t pick. My logic is battling with WWE’s logic in my head and we can’t come to an agreement. My instincts tell me that Sheamus just won the KOTR and losing his first big match after that would make his KOTR win look pointless. On the other hand, with Miz quite possibly holding onto the title (I hope not, but it could happen), a heel vs heel match at the Royal Rumble again would be horrible, and Miz Vs Morrison would be perfect given their history and the fact that RR title matches usually feature mid card guys getting the shot they normally wouldn’t get. So, either Sheamus looks pathetic after just winning the KOTR, or WWE do something right and keep pushing a guy they seem to want to push, which unfortunately might make the RR title match worse than it could be. Guess I’ll just find out like everyone else, by watching the damn show lol.
Chairs Match – John Cena Vs Wade Barrett
Oh noes! Not a chairs match! Perhaps the most brutal and dangerous match of ALL TIME. At least, according to Matt Striker anyway. He’s a tool these days so nobody cares what he thinks. This feud started off great earlier in the year when Nexus got together. Then it started sucking around 3 weeks in. And they kept it going for MONTHS. And now we have to suffer through them essentially going back to where they started with Nexus attacking Cena. Yey.
Winner – John Cena – Barrett winning again doesn’t make sense. Really, really don’t give a fuck though. I just want this to end.
WWE Title Table Match – The Miz (c) Vs Randy Orton
Oh look, a singles table match. YAWN. Table matches were only really any good when they were between tag teams (MALE tag teams), and even then only a handful of them were actually any good. With Miz being Miz, and this not being 2004-2006 Orton, I am expecting a shit match just like Sheamus/Cena from last year, with probably a dumbarse ending too so Miz can retain the belt without actually doing a damn thing, because we all know he doesn’t deserve it.
Winner – The Miz – I WANT Orton to win just because I don’t HATE Orton. But unfortunately I see Miz holding on to the belt until Elimination Chamber. Like the divas match, I’ll probably just skip to the table bump.
World Heavyweight Title TLC Match – Kane (c) Vs Edge Vs Rey Mysterio Vs Alberto Del Rio
Talk about a dumb as fuck reason to add Rey and Alberto into this match. Teddy Long offers Rey and Alberto a shot at the title if Kane doesn’t make it to the PPV, and Alberto doesn’t like the idea of being a backup plan… so Teddy sticks them in the match no matter what. AARRGGHHH. At least with 2 good workers in the match instead of none, which was the original plan, the match might end up being a fun spotfest.
Winner – Edge – Honestly I don’t want anyone in this match as World Champ right now, but Edge seems the most likely to win. Kane’s reign has gone on way too long, Rey just isn’t a credible champion and Del Rio, while really good, doesn’t need the belt this early in his run. Edge is the go to guy when it comes to passing the belt around, so whatever. He’ll probably drop it at the Elimination Chamber anyway.
So, those are my predictions on WWE TLC 2010. I just have one last thing to say: WHERE THE FUCK IS BRYAN DANIELSON???
So, during Undertaker Month, I was posting a review a day. I had a list of around 20 matches before I started, and got the other 10 from requests. However, when I got to #12, the match I originally had planned ended up getting changed to the Hulk Hogan Tuesday in Texas match. So what was originally planned, and why did I change it? Well, maybe the actual review will help you figure it out!
The Undertaker Vs Barry Windham – WWF Raw 27/04/1998
Ha, two of my favourite wrestlers going at it on my birthday :).
No background for this one, just a random Raw match, but since I’m a huge Windham fan, I thought I’d give it a watch anyway lol. The night before was Unforgiven, where Undertaker defeated Kane in the first ever Inferno match. As for Windham, he was part of Cornette’s NWA stable.
And as I wrote that last paragraph… Undertaker chokeslammed Windham already, and as I was writing this sentence… Undertaker hit the Tombstone and got the win!
Well… ummm… this one lasted about 30 seconds. Damn.
Rating: 1/4*
So there you have it… the match lasted around 30 seconds, and left me with virtually NOTHING to write about 😛.
For anyone following my Twitter account, you will know that I have a bunch of problems with uploading videos this week. My internet connection has been horrible, so it took me about 2 days to get the videos online, and then when I finally did, for some reason Blip claimed there was a conversion error, and because I don’t have a premium account or whatever with them, I can’t get them to re-convert it or anything.
The thing is though, the video didn’t need converting. Blip now converts uploaded videos to M4V format, unless you upload an M4V format yourself… which is what I usually do, and did in this instance. So for some reason Blip tried to convert a file that didn’t need converting, and screwed up along the way.
So, instead of trying to re-upload it, I just attempted to upload Weekly Wrestling Roundup Episode 4, which ended up being a day late, but got done. My reason for this is that WWR is a show based on the previous week in wrestling, and getting it up any later wouldn’t be very good as a new week in wrestling would have started and might get confusing, or cause people to kinda forget the previous week lol.
As far as the Wrestling View video goes, I will try and get it uploaded again for next week. After that, I will only be doing one more video this year, and that will be an end of year special, and then from 2011 I will probably cut down on the amount of Wrestling View videos I do, and concentrate more on getting Weekly Wrestling Roundup done and uploaded on time :). Plus the less WV videos I do, the more unlikely it is that I run out of ideas lol. And with more time to do them, I might be able to make them better with maybe some more scripting (right now I just have notes and wing it) and being more adventurous with editing (or at least as much as my crappy PC will allow lol).
